Synopsis
Where is the face of Jesus? This film shows how the Ladies of Charity find the face of Christ in the poor. They acknowledge we are all poor in something and in performing compassion in action joy is experienced not only by those served but also by those serving. This is a short film about the Ladies of Charity and their commitment and passion for serving people in need. Founded by St. Vincent De Paul, the Ladies of Charity responded to the needs of the poor in seventeenth century France. Together with St. Louise de Marillac, they went quietly about their tasks, seeking no recognition, satisfied with the knowledge that they were serving Christ in the person of the poor. Today, 400 years later, they continue that work throughout the world. This short documentary provides a glimpse of their dedicated efforts to serve the poor with dignity in the United States.
